Decoration “INCRUSTE” with the Faience manufacture of Wasmuël

Of large planter on foot, but also of the umbrella-stands, the vases, the tobacco jars or the dishes, present a luxuriant polychrome decoration of flowers sometimes joined together in bouquets, exotic birds and sometimes of characters on bottom of vegetations. Instead of being painted with the brush, contours and the details of these reasons are incised rather deeply in the paste, operation immediately carried out after the shaping on the part in vintage. During enamelling and then of cooking, the incised features, underlined of black or gold, are used as limit between the colors or, on the contrary, filled of enamel, they accentuate the shades suggested by cross hatchings.
